Front Yard Foods is on a mission to teach the community how to grow their food, as well as, how to get it on their table. Whether it is to enjoy a few fresh items from the garden, or to store enough food to sustain a family through the year, FYF wants to help their clients complete the circle of home gardening.

With custom designs, individualized consultation, and personalized education, FYF will build the confidence of each client and equip them with the knowledge to accomplish their unique goals.

Laura Fernandez founded Front Yard Foods in 2022 and has been helping clients develop uniquely designed gardens and edible landscapes. Laura’s passion for food first sprouted when she built her first garden with her grandfather at the age of 12.

Originally from Georgia, Laura fell in love with the Greenville community in 1997, as a freshman at Furman University. After graduation, Laura spent time doing graduate work in Tuscany, Italy where she learned what it really meant to eat locally and seasonally.

That passion for food led Laura’s work in a variety of local restaurants and then eventually to manage a local garden center for several years. These experiences enabled her to understand food from both the culinary and farming side. This extensive education, as both a gardener and restaurateur, has solidified Laura’s mission to teach people how to grow their own food, as well as, how to get it on their table.

Food, farming and community are of the greatest importance to Laura. Through Front Yard Foods, Laura hopes to inspire others to find their own connection to the earth and its value. Laura uses custom designs, individualized consultation and personalized education to build the confidence of each client and equip them with knowledge to accomplish their unique goals.
